Year of Yumminess: 2017

Another year of blogging is coming to a close! I declare victory because I posted more than I did in 2016! Hopefully I can keep it up in 2018.

In terms of what y’all viewed most, you were very consistent with last year. Macarons were again the favorite with that Vanilla Bean Macaron recipe continuing its hold on the most viewed post. Raspberry Lemon Curd Macarons and Lemon Curd Macarons were in the mix also. Along with some of those Classic Napoleons. My favorite out of your favorites (huh?) is that yummy, gooey Baklava

Funnily enough, none of those recipes were ones I posted in 2017!

My favorites of 2017 were…

Lemon Bundt Cake – My favorite part about baking is recreating delicious desserts that I have tasted elsewhere. I love the challenge of figuring out the recipe for a dessert with absolutely nothing to go off of except the memory of the taste. This recipe I created after tasting a similar cake at brunch in San Antonio. It’s so light and fluffy and has a refreshing lemon flavor that is perfect for anytime of the year but especially spring and summer.

Grandma’s Apple Pie – I grew up with this pie, and I love being able to share a family favorite. I also feel like I finally found a delicious and simple homemade pie crust to go with this recipe which feels like an accomplishment.

Apple Crumble Pie

Bakery Style Chocolate Chip Cookies – This was by far my favorite recipe of 2017. I have made these an embarrassing number of times this year. I actually went to my sister’s apartment on weekends to make these …. and to see her of course! They are everything good in life with rich dark chocolate chunks and sea salt sprinkled on top.

Stay tuned for more YUMMINESS in 2018.
