Year of Yumminess: 2018

Another year is coming to a close and that means my annual “Year of Yumminess” post. My most popular recipes are ones that I posted in the early years of my blog.

  1. Vanilla Bean Macarons
  2. Raspberry Lemon Curd Macarons
  3. Baklava
  4. White Chocolate Raspberry Macarons
  5. Lemon Curd Macarons

As you can see, y’all really love my macaron posts. I am so happy that you’re still baking up these recipes. I spent so many weeks researching, testing, and writing my Macaron Tutorial, so it really warms my heart that all those batches of macarons that took over my kitchen back in 2015 were worthwhile.

My Baklava recipe snuck in there too which totally makes sense because it’s completely wonderful!

My personal favorites from this year are….

Classic Blueberry Pie – I love this pie because it is not overly sweet…it’s got a nice lemon zip to it but there is also a bit of cinnamon to bring a bit of warmth. This is one of my favorite recipes because I was able to play around with another recipe and get the filling to set perfectly. I love fruit pie, but I hate when you get a slice on a plate and the filling has oozed out of the pie crust and is an undefined blob on the plate. This pie is not your average runny fruit pie. I mean look at that slice ↓↓Blueberry Pie

Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies – This was one of my favorite recipes from this year because a) they’re delicious and b) I must have made them a dozen times this year. They started out as a quest to recreate a cookie I had tasted, but they ended up turning into a wonderful cookie of their own!Soft Chocolate Chip CookiesCranberry Walnut Bread – I finally got to play around with making bread this year and this was the first recipe I tried out! I’ve been working on some other bread recipes that I will hopefully be able to post in 2019! This one quickly became a favorite in my family … my sister is always asking when I’ll be making another loaf and my mom started making it gluten free!

I hope you had a wonderful year of baking in 2018 too! And here’s to many cakes, cookies, and pies in 2019! Happy New Year!
