Chocolate Covered Coffee BeansRecipe #4 in the Christmas Yumminess Countdown!!!

christmas yumminess countdown

I know many people who could have used this during finals! I mean I actually couldn’t sleep during finals. I went with the motto that sleep is more important than studying, so I was actually in bed at 9:00 every night but after a few nights of that my body actually rejected the possibility of 9 hours of sleep and gave me 5 instead….what’s up with that?

Well now that finals are over and I have no need for these, I had a kitchen to make them in! C’est la vie! <–I did end up getting an A on my French final despite my commitment to procrastination in that class….Ode to Shapes will explain in full.

Chocolate Covered Coffee Beans

This recipe is very difficult…you drop coffee beans in melted chocolate and then sit them on wax paper…I’m exhausted just describing the process.

These would be a great christmas present for people you just want to give a little gift to. They are pretty strong though so make sure whoever they are intended for likes coffee. To tone down the coffee flavor a little, dip the coffee beans in chocolate once, let them dry and then dip them again.

Chocolate Covered Coffee Beans

…and voilà!

Chocolate Covered Coffee Beans

Ingredients
  • Coffee Beans
  • Chocolate**
Instructions
  1. Melt chocolate.
  2. Dunk a few coffee beans in the chocolate at a time and pull them out with a fork.
  3. Dry on wax paper.
  4. Refrigerate if needed.
  5. Voilà!
Notes
* I used Candy Wafers Milk Chocolate. This chocolate is already tempered so it will dry nicely. You can also use a Ghiradelli or Baker's chocolate; you might need to put it in the fridge to help the chocolate dry.
